At Paws and Purrs Retreat, we aim to provide a safe, compassionate, and fear-free environment where every pet is treated with the utmost care and respect. Guided by honesty and integrity, we are committed to fostering a nurturing space for your furry companions, ensuring their comfort and well-being while you’re away. With a focus on empathy and safety first, we strive to create a paw-sitive and fun experience for every pet, allowing them to feel at ease and cared for as part of our family.
As Mother and Daughter, we have always been close. Megan has always had a deep connection and passion for animals, and Emily, having been raised around them, has been passionate about the same for her whole life. From running a pet-sitting company, owning and operating a boarding facility, volunteering at shelters to rescuing animals in unfortunate situations, this has always been something that has brought us together.
Both having always been passionate about animals and giving back to the community, having this retreat seemed like a no-brainer. With six animals at home, we still have a passion to care for more!
From left to right:
Lincoln is our resident old-man. With 14 years under his paws, he is nothing if not grumpy. We rescued Lincoln when he was abandoned at our previous facility, and he has been with us ever since. Pear is our first heeler mix, at 5 years old she is our spicy one of the group. timid and full of sass, she never fails to surprise us. Mac is a 2 year old parvo survivor. After rescuing Mac from an unfortunate situation, we nursed him back to health in our home with iv fluids, medications and lots of love. Mac is now as crazy as a heeler can be!
Sir David Cattenborough, named after Emilys inspiration David Attenborough, is our 2 year old cat. Rescued from behind a dumpster in San Marcos, TX, he has added a diversity and weirdness to our pack. Steve french came from Austin Animal Center, from a tour where we couldnt turn away his handsome charm, he went from fearful and timid to head of the houshold.
Lola is the princess of the pack, clocking in at 6 years old and very spoiled, shes the companion we never knew we needed.
